Christmas concert

The chapel
vibrates
and booms
from the gleaming
gold symbols.
Hand bells
ring in the background
Clapping shutters
through the green
reeves
and through the pews.
The chorus
files on to the
steps
trailing up to the alter.
Folders
swish open
in unison.
Voices rise
and split
into a round
spreading spirit
though
the clustered
spirited audience.
clapping arouses again
as the doors
fly open.
Cool air
streams through
the chapel
sending a chill
down the hallway.
